Hi, I'm Amy! Get on in here! Grab your caffeine, take off your shoes, and snuggle up onto my sofa: You belong here.
Ok, I'm just going to come right out and say it: writing an "about me" section is weird. It's so weird. I feel like I'm going on a blind date, "Ummmmmm hi. I'm Amy, happy mother of 3 littles. I'm a Scorpio. I love red lipstick, graphic tees and college football..." Gag. I won't let it be like that here. Absolutely not. Not on my watch. Repeat after me: NO UNCOMFORTABLENESS. It ain't my style.
My style is more sweatpants, paper plates and shoveling pizza into my pie hole. My style is more real and honest, lots of laughs, lots of being late everywhere, and lots of lounging and laziness with my hunk of a hubby. My style is women who know that they belong, that they are always invited, and that they can come just as they are: no fancy, no fake, no feelings of inadequacies.
My family is my home. Wherever they are is where I most want to be, except those occasional days where everyone is crying and picking on either their nose or their younger sibling. On those days, I most want to be alone on the floor of my closet with a massive bag of peanut butter M&M's and my Bible, texting an understanding friend back and forth. No phone calls though. Phone calls are for emergencies only. You should know this about me if we're going to be friends and I really, really want us to be friends.
I want women to find one thing here: fulfillment and freedom in the fact that they are loved and worthy, and that they have an essential role to play in God's kingdom. I want them to rest in the knowledge that THEY MATTER. They are absolutely essential to God's master plan. And as they begin to sink into their roles, and memorize their lines, I want them to take a deep breath, and discover the courage to step out onto that stage,
Because its not enough to just BE who you are. You've gotta USE who you are.
